You may have noticed that the cost of fuel has been skyrocketing and shows no signs of slowing down. Whether you drive a Lamborghini, Bentley, or Rolls-Royce, you’re probably looking for ways to save at the gas station. Luckily, there are some ways that you can alter your driving style to make your drive more fuel-efficient and thus save on fuel costs. Here are some tips from our car service experts at Fields Motorcars Orlando.

Ease Up on the Gas and Brakes

Your gas mileage typically decreases rapidly at speeds above 50 miles per hour. This costs you an estimated $0.23 extra per gallon for every five miles per hour you drive over that speed. Putting the pedal to the metal too quickly can also waste fuel, and the same is true for slamming on the brakes. Take a balanced approach to accelerating and braking to easily save money.

Avoid Excessive Idling

Certain Rolls-Royce cars have engines that automatically stop when you idle your car, and many new cars have heavy-duty starters that can handle dozens of starts in a day. Avoid excessive idling by powering down when you’re not on the road. If you’re parked for more than a minute, turn off the engine to save on gas.

Keep Your Engine Maintained

Keeping up with regularly scheduled maintenance is a great way to ensure that your car is getting the performance and fuel efficiency of which it is capable. The short-term costs of properly maintaining your vehicle can improve your gas mileage by an average of four percent. Schedule and oil change or any other maintenance task at our service center.

When you get an oil change at our dealership, we’ll make sure that you’re using the manufacturer's recommended motor oil grade, which will also help you conserve fuel.
